Dr. Ong was very inspiring and very humble for a guy who as achieved so much in his life. Going through one semester under Dr. Ong was a pleasure and exciting one. I like his teaching style and making his ability to make things simpler and better to understand/apply. I am particularly impressed by a quote from Albert Einstein used by Dr. Ong, “I am not smart. I just stay with problems longer”. To me, it simply means perseverance and patience are the key factors to solving problems and difficulties faced in life.

I find it very easy to understand the concepts explained by Dr Ong. He explains them in such a way that is very easy to relate to. He also teaches us techniques that help us prevent confusion when answering questions. I find this useful because it helps me avoid careless mistakes. I am also happy to be able to learn new ways of doing working to make solving questions surprising neat and simple. My frustration of ending up with complicate workings has been eliminated.
Previously, I find it challenging to solve proving questions. I always feel that to be able to do such questions very much depends on whether you can ‘see’ how to change an expression to the expression to be proved. But with the guidance from Dr Ong, I have learnt systematic approaches to solve such questions and are now confident in doing such questions.
Students in Concept Maths have their results improved tremendously!
